Most people think boudoir is a solo experience. And it can be. But there’s something that happens when two people walk into a studio together — something that’s harder to manufacture in any other setting.

Couples boudoir photography in Detroit is about being seen together. Not performing. Not posing for a camera in the way you imagine posing for a camera. Just the two of you, in a private studio, documented at your most honest and alive.

At my Ferndale studio, couples sessions are guided from start to finish. You don’t need to know what to do with your hands or how to look at each other on command. That’s what I’m here for.

What a Couples Boudoir Session Actually Looks Like

You both arrive. Hair and makeup is handled. Then we talk through what you’re hoping to create, what you’re nervous about, and what feels true to your relationship.

Then we shoot.

I’ll direct every pose, every position, every moment. Some couples want soft and romantic. Some want bold and charged. Most want something in between — images that feel like them, not like a concept they found on Pinterest. We build the session around what’s real between you, not a template.

By the time we’re done most couples say the same thing — that it was the most fun they’ve had together in a long time. That they saw each other differently. That they can’t believe how good the photos look.

You don’t need a reason. But if you’re looking for one:

What to Wear

Think about outfits that feel like you — individually and together. Matching sets, complementary colors, or something completely mismatched that somehow works. Silk, lace, leather, a favorite oversized shirt. There’s no rule here.

Bring 3–4 options each and we’ll talk through what to shoot in what order before we start. If you’re not sure, reach out before your session and I’ll help you plan it.

The Investment

The session fee is $750, which comes off your total collection. Most couples invest between $3,200 and $6,000 depending on the artwork, albums, and images they choose. Payment plans are available through Affirm, Klarna, and an in-house 0% interest option.

Hair and makeup is included.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does couples boudoir have to be explicit? No. The session goes exactly as far as you both want it to and not one inch further. Some couples do implied, some do fully clothed intimacy, some go further. You set the parameters before we start and I work within them. There’s no pressure in either direction.

What if one of us is more nervous than the other? That’s almost always the case. We ease in slowly, start with whatever feels most comfortable, and let the session build naturally. The more nervous partner usually loosens up within the first twenty minutes — once you see how the photos are looking, nerves tend to disappear.

Do we need to be in a relationship for a certain amount of time? No. Newly together, decades in, or anywhere in between — what matters is that you both want to be there.

How long is the session? Most couples sessions run 2–3 hours depending on the number of looks and the pace that feels right.

Can we keep the images private? Yes, completely. Images are only ever shared publicly with explicit written permission from both of you. Many couples keep their session entirely private and that’s completely respected.
