The Anniversary Gift Nobody Expects and Nobody Forgets
Most anniversary gifts end up in a drawer. A card. A dinner reservation. A piece of jewelry that was chosen in fifteen minutes online.
A boudoir session doesn’t end up in a drawer.
It ends up framed. In an album that lives on a nightstand. In a moment your person opens on the morning of your anniversary and completely loses their words. Or it ends up being something you did entirely for yourself – a way of marking the year, the relationship, the version of you that exists right now in this chapter.
Either way it’s not something anyone forgets.
Why Boudoir Works as an Anniversary Gift
There’s something about a boudoir session that hits differently than a physical gift. It’s not a thing. It’s an experience; yours alone captured, and made permanent.
Women book anniversary boudoir sessions for a lot of different reasons. Some want to give their partner something intimate and personal that no store could sell them. Some want to mark a milestone year — the fifth, the tenth, the twenty-fifth — with something that reflects where they are right now. Some have been through something hard in their relationship and want to come back to themselves first. Some just want an excuse to feel incredibly seen for a few hours.
All of those are the right reason.

What the Experience Looks Like
You arrive at my private Ferndale studio. I’m a licensed stylist so I handle your hair and makeup personally before we ever pick up a camera. We talk, we ease in, we figure out the vibe you’re going for — soft and romantic, bold and charged, or somewhere in between.
Then we shoot. I guide every pose from start to finish. You don’t need to know what to do or how to look. That’s entirely on me.
At the end of the session you’ll do a private image reveal and choose your favorites. Most clients invest in a beautiful album — the kind that gets wrapped and presented on the morning of the anniversary. Some keep their images entirely private. Both are completely valid.
What to Give Your Person
If you’re doing this as a gift, here’s what most clients do. They invest in a collection that includes a printed album — something tactile and permanent that your person can hold. They write a handwritten note to go with it. And they time the reveal for the morning of the anniversary, before anything else happens that day.
The reaction is almost always the same. Speechless. Then not speechless at all.
This Works for Every Kind of Relationship
Heterosexual couples, same-sex couples, partners of any gender. The session is inclusive, the posing is guided entirely around you, and the images reflect your relationship — not a template.
You don’t need to be a certain age, size, or comfort level. You need to want to do something that matters.
The Investment
The session fee is $750 which comes off your total collection. Most clients invest between $3,200 and $6,000 depending on the artwork, albums, and images they choose. Payment plans are available through Affirm, Klarna, and an in-house 0% interest option.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is boudoir appropriate as an anniversary gift even after many years together? Especially after many years together. There’s something powerful about doing this in a long relationship — it’s not about newness, it’s about being fully seen by someone who already knows you completely. Clients who do this at 10, 20, or 30 years in say it brought them back to something they didn’t realize they’d drifted from.
Can we do a couples session instead? Yes. If you want to be photographed together rather than presenting the images as a gift, a couples boudoir session is a different but equally powerful experience. Both are available at my Ferndale studio.
How far in advance should I book for an anniversary date? At least 6-8 weeks out to allow time for editing, printing, and packaging your album. If your anniversary is coming up sooner, reach out anyway and we’ll see what we can do.
Is hair and makeup included? Yes with every session. I’m a licensed stylist so I handle everything myself — you arrive with a fresh face and clean dry hair and we go from there.
Will the images stay private? Completely. Images are never shared publicly without explicit written permission. Many clients keep their anniversary sessions entirely private and that is fully respected.
