Boudoir Photographer Near Ann Arbor: The Studio Worth the Drive

As a boudoir photographer Ann Arbor women drive 45 minutes to work with, I hear the same thing almost every time someone arrives at my Ferndale studio: I couldn’t find anyone closer whose work actually excited me.
She’s done the research. She’s scrolled through portfolios, read reviews, compared studios. And somewhere in that process she realized that what she actually wants isn’t available in her backyard. So she makes the drive.
Forty-five minutes up I-94. And every single one of them tells me afterward it was the easiest decision they made in the whole process.
I’m Magan Rogers, a boudoir photographer based in Ferndale, Michigan. Women travel to my studio from Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Saline, Chelsea, Dexter, and all across Washtenaw County (and even out of state!). Not because there’s nothing closer. Because there’s nothing comparable closer.
What Makes the Drive Worth It
My studio is private. One photographer, one client, one experience at a time. Nobody else is shooting in the next room. Nobody else is waiting for hair and makeup. It’s just you, and a few hours that belong entirely to you.
Professional hair and makeup is included with every session. I’m a licensed stylist, so I handle everything myself before we ever pick up a camera. You arrive exactly as you are and we ease into the morning together, just the two of us, before a single photo is taken.
Every pose is guided from the moment we start shooting to the moment we finish. You don’t need to know how to look sexy on command or what to do with your hands. That’s my job. Yours is just to show up.
And at the end of your session you’ll do a private image reveal before you leave. You’ll choose your favorites while you’re still in the energy of the day, still feeling like yourself. Most Ann Arbor clients say that moment alone was worth the trip.

What to Expect When You Come from Ann Arbor
The studio is at 800 Hilton Rd in Ferndale. Parking is easy, the neighborhood is cute, and if you want to make a full day of it Ferndale is adorable, Royal Oak, or Downtown Detroit is right around the corner for lunch or dinner before you head back.
Most sessions run about three to four hours from the time you arrive for hair and makeup to the time you finish your reveal. Plan for that and give yourself a relaxed drive home. You won’t want to rush it.
Who This Is For
If you’ve been thinking about doing something like this for a while and just haven’t found the right fit closer to home, this is your sign. You don’t need to be a certain size, age, or comfort level. You don’t need to have done anything like this before.
You just need to be a little bit curious about what it would feel like to see yourself the way the people who love you already do.
Women in their 20s book this session. Women in their 60s book this session. Women who are newly single, newly engaged, newly postpartum, newly 40, or newly done waiting for the “right time”. The one thing they have in common is that they showed up.

The Investment
The session fee is $750 which comes off your total collection. Most clients invest between $3,200 and $6,000 depending on the artwork, albums, and images they choose. Payment plans are available through Affirm, Klarna, and an in-house 0% interest option.
