Tips from a Detroit Boudoir Photographer
I cannot count the times where my clients contact me and say, “I’m so excited for the session, but I don’t know how to prepare for it! What do I do?!” First of all, relax! I am here to show you how to prepare for your Boudoir shoot. I can guarantee that these tips will at least help you ease your mind a little bit, and make your photos look even better.

The Do’s For Preparing for Your Boudoir Shoot
DO plan to get your facials or waxing done for the session, I recommend waxing at least three days before. The reason why is because this can cause redness and blotchiness.
DO cut all the tags in your outfit options. You do not want the tags to be visible in the photos. (Yes, it includes the laundry instructions!)
DO eat something light before the session. Do not eat anything that will make you bloat, such as too many carbs, carbonated drinks, etc.
DO bring a couple different outfit options! Black is always a great color option.
DO get your nails done! Chipped toes, and fingers will be noticed in photos!

The Dont’s For Your Boudoir Shoot
DO NOT wear tight clothing when coming to your boudoir session. This can cause marks on your skin. Instead, wear loose clothing like a sweatshirt or a loose shirt.
DO NOT wear hair ties on your wrist because this can also digs into your skin and cause marks. This is easy to forget, so just make sure to remind yourself before the day of the session!
Lastly, DO NOT be nervous, I promise – I got you (I know that can be easier said than done!) and just have fun! Let’s crank up the music, get some sexy ass pictures of you, and make it the best time of your life. Pamper yourself before the boudoir shoot – because you deserve a luxury treatment once in a while!
